Here’s an interesting way to keep your livestock cool in the heat of summer…

The heat of summer is upon us, and as homesteaders, it is important to remember that we, humans aren’t the only ones who feel the heat! Taking steps to keep your livestock cool and comfortable is essential for their well-being. You may be able to retreat to an air-conditioned space when temperatures soar, but your animals don’t have that luxury! However, there are a number of effective ways to keep your livestock cool in the summer and prevent heat-related illnesses and injury.

Of course, a plentiful source of fresh, cool, clean water is essential. Just about all types of livestock will quickly develop heat stroke and die without this! You’ll also want to make sure they have a shady place to get out of the sun.
